Meds, Cures & Delays Mod

The Mod was created to bring more diverse mechanics to the medical and specifically infection parts of PZ. With a variety of Stims and Test Kits added to the game, survivors can now see whether injuries have caused infection of KX, delay the effects of the KX Virus, vaccinate against it for periods of time, and even cure it. However, these powerful experimental meds come with a long list of side effects, some affecting survivors for a number of Months after using...

The Experimental Cure...
kyrvirablast.webp
  • Summary

ViraBlast is an experimental cure for the KX Virus. A potent mix of a chemical cocktail, this stuff should be handled with care. Survivors who've taken this stuff and lived to tell the tale often refer to it's strange green glow.

Found in single use Stim Injectors, ViraBlast will instantly cure the user from KX, however, due to the potency of the substance, there are severe side effects... These are both instant and will re-occur over a number of Months after using.

  • Delivery Method

Found in single use Stim Injectors.

  • Side Effects (Severe - 7 Weeks)

Chemical Burns, Exhaustion, Cold, Sickness, Depression, Panic, Hunger, Thirst

- - - ViraShield - - -

The Experimental Vaccine...
kyrvirashield.webp
  • Summary

ViraShield is an experimental vaccine for the KX Virus. Another strong mix of unknown chemicals and partly dead virus cells make up this strange blue substance...

ViraShield will protect users from contracting KX. Taking effect about an hour after injecting, ViraShield will keep the user protected for about 2 weeks. It is however an "active vaccine", and so is near lethal if taken by people already infected. In these circumstances it will massively increase the speed of death and turning due to KX. Similar to ViraBlast, but not quite as strong, the potent mix of chemicals involved is known to have a list of rather nasty side effects on the user.

    Delivery Method

Found in single use Stim Injectors.

  • Side Effects (Strong - 7 Weeks)

Chemical Burns, Exhaustion, Cold, Sickness, Depression, Panic, Hunger, Thirst

The Experimental Delay...
kyrviraboost.webp
  • Summary

ViraBoost is an experimental KX delay medicine, orange in color with a vile potent smell.

ViraBoost contains viral inhibitors, making this an effective solution to delay the progression of the KX infection. Typically buying the user an additional 96 hours/4days in time before normal course of the virus resumes. Taking multiple injections has been known to slow the virus by up to one month in total, however, side effects are also known to stack up for around 6 months in total.

  • Delivery Method

Found in single use Stim Injectors.

  • Side Effects (Moderate - 7 Weeks)

Chemical Burns, Exhaustion, Cold, Sickness, Depression, Panic, Hunger, Thirst

- - - ViraChews - - -

The Experimental Delay...
kyrvirachews.webp
  • Summary

ViraChews are another experimental delay medicine, with shorter delay and milder side effects. Known amongst survivors for their strange purple aura and usual potent smell.

Taking a ViraChew will buy the user a 12 hour delay per pill taken. Taking multiple pills has been known to delay the progression of KX by up to 1 month. Side effects can stack up to 6 months though, so caution is advised.

  • Delivery Method

Found in Boxes containing 4 Pills each.

  • Side Effects (Mild - 3 Weeks)

Exhaustion, Cold, Sickness, Depression, Panic, Hunger, Thirst

- - - ViraTest - - -

The Experimental Test Kit...
kyrviratest.webp
  • Summary

ViraTest kits are used to check if the user has contracted KX from injuries or other sources. Each box contains 2 "breathers" that the user will need to blow into.

ViraTest kits have been known to be "misused" by people with very little first-aid knowledge. Survivors with first-aid skill level 0 should be careful when interpreting the results.

  • Delivery Method

Found in Boxes containing 2 "breathers"

  • Side Effects (N/A)

There are no known side effects of the breather test kits.
